    Health and wellbeing of transitional age foster youth

    Her dissertation examined the relationship between transition readiness and health services utilization among transitional age foster youth. She has also been active in advocacy and mentor work with child welfare organizations for the past 11 years. Dr. Miller’s personal and professional experience with the foster care system can help organizations develop effective strategic plans to address the needs of youth in care and those transitioning into adulthood.

    Recruitment and retention of diverse and historically excluded nursing student populations.

    Her most recent study utilized a qualitative lens to explore perceptions of inclusion among Black and Hispanic nursing students. Her expertise in developing recruitment and retention strategies for diverse and historically excluded populations can help your school of nursing meet organizational benchmarks and improve student success.

    Dr. Miller utilizes her expertise in curriculum building and instructional design to help organizations develop effective training materials for their employees. Her most recent work with Black on the Job, a professional development company that services Black individuals in the workplace, involved developing the curriculum for a 16 - hour DEI masterclass for 75 students which she also facilitated. She has also worked with organizations to develop peer mentoring programs for underserved youth.
